Museum of Contemporary Arts

Once the administration offices of the Maritime Services Board, this waterside building reopened its doors as a museum in 1991. The current boxy black and white façade was added in 2011 to expand the space as well as to create a rooftop cafe.

Art Gallery of New South Wales

Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is the leading museum of art in New South Wales and Sydney. It holds significant collections of Australian, European and Asian art, and presents nearly 40 exhibitions annually.

White Rabbit Gallery

The White Rabbit Collection is one of the world’s largest and most significant collections of contemporary Chinese art. Founded by Kerr and Judith Neilson, it focuses on works produced after 2000. Located in the trendy neighbourhood of Chippendale, the gallery has a tea house on ground floor.

Ken Done Gallery

Carriageworks

Carriageworks is the largest and most significant contemporary multi-arts centre in Sydney. Converted from old rail yards, the space hosts various exhibition, performances and it is also the home to one of Sydney’s best farmers markets on Saturdays.
